Join us in Summer 2023 for a brand new camp hosted at RIT! At Machining Camp, students will get the opportunities to learn about Computer Aided Manufacturing and exposure to STEM environments.
Students will use 3D software and a tabletop CNC (Computer Numerical Control) router to design and carve their own creations
A core goal of Machining Camp is to encourage and develop students' ability to work in groups. To this end, students will work in teams throughout camp
Students will be able to design their own project, first with craft materials and then they will translate it into virtual designs for the machine to interpret
Critical thinking and problem solving skills are at the core of what Machining Camp will teach. Activities will encourage exploration of ideas, intuition, and analysis
Creativity as well as technical skills will be emphasized. Students will have opportunities to stretch their abilities and their ideas
Camp prioritizes exploration and introduction to machining topics, rather than instruction
