Curriculum

Activities:

  • Assemble their CNC router and create a team nameplate
  • Learn how to use Easel software and use it to design and carve a custom button to keep
  • Work as a team to compete in our Final Project

Skills students will learn:

  • Teamwork and interpersonal skills!
  • Understanding of machining as a manufacturing process
  • Problem solving and information literacy
  • Easel Computer Aided Design (CAD) software
  • Familiarity with routers and carving
  • The engineering design process

Camp Dates & Times

Age Range

11-13 year olds excited to learn about machining and manufacturing No previous experience required!

There are potential risks associated with using the CNC machines with sharp bits moving at high speeds. Our number one priority is your child's safety, but keep this in mind when deciding if this camp is a good fit for your child.

Pricing

For the first summer of Machining Camp, the session is FREE.


Required Apparel

Close toed shoes

Long hair should be tied up

No loose clothing, i.e. hanging sleeves, hoodie cords

No loose jewelry

Eye protection will be provided
